Joey's Feline Friends

FOR OVER TWO DECADES,

Joey’s Feline Friends has devoted itself to saving, rehabilitating, and finding adoptive homes for

Hawaii's homeless, abused, & physically challenged animals.

To My Dear JFF ‘Ohana,

After almost twenty-five years, I will be closing Joey’s Feline Friends at the end of the year to begin a new chapter in my life. This difficult decision was influenced mainly by my physical limitations over the last few years and declining support for the shelter. Everyone is struggling due to this pandemic and it has put a strain on our entire network, which we rely so heavily upon.

For the next few months, we will be working with our friends in other organizations to place our residents in foster care or shelters as we continue to provide for their daily needs. We will not be accepting any new cats, for any reason, as this will hinder our ability to do this during our transition. We still have so many cats who need medical attention and/or a loving home therefore we will still maintain our 501(c)3 status in order for you to make tax-exempt donations.

It has been my privilege to meet so many wonderful people throughout the years. We’ve had amazing volunteers, generous donors who sought no recognition for themselves, and adoptive families who provided the loving homes that these cats so desperately deserved. There were groups and partners, local and beyond, who came through for us when we needed it the most. Overall, we were truly blessed – I have been truly blessed – to know each and every one of you, and we will always share a special connection.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for all the years of blood, sweat, and tears we shared. Ultimately, our cats are the ones who truly benefited as many of them would not have survived without your support.

Please take care of your ‘ohana, stay safe, and I hope to see you around!

Me Ke Aloha Pumehana,

Tedi
